Creating lasting solutions to violence involving young black males and promote community self-empowerment, educational achievement and economic opportunities through a committed, collaborative and accountable presence within Nova Scotia.
902 ManUp is a non-profit volunteer organization founded in 2016 in response to the increase in community violence particularly involving black males. The organization is primarily dedicated to the advancement of all Black Communities within Nova Scotia and shall have a particular focus on the empowerment of young black males. The expanded mandate of 902MU includes all individuals or groups at risk of marginalization and social and academic exclusion.
902 Man Up’s goal is to serve as a community-lead organization which relies upon the various resources of the local community to help make a positive difference within our neighborhoods, especially in the lives of our Youth. To engage the communities in open dialogue on issues that affects us/them. Through this 902 Man Up will be able to foster trust and participation from those it most seeks to help for a positive change within our society.
